Palwal ACB Arrests Police Sub-Inspector and Patwari Assistant in ₹3,000 Bribery Cases

Palwal ACB Arrests Police Sub-Inspector and Patwari Assistant in ₹3,000 Bribery Cases

Palwal ACB arrests a police sub-inspector and a patwari assistant in separate ₹3,000 bribery cases. Patwari Pravesh is also named in an FIR and remains absconding as teams conduct raids.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has intensified its crackdown on alleged corruption in Palwal district, arresting two government personnel in separate operations on Friday for allegedly accepting bribes of ₹3,000 each. The arrests involved a police sub-inspector posted at Hathin Gate Police Post and Yadram, an assistant working with the Revenue Department patwari.

In the first operation, a Faridabad ACB team arrested Rajesh Kumar, the sub-inspector in charge of Hathin Gate Police Post, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3,000. In a separate operation, the Palwal ACB team caught Yadram, who worked as an assistant to a patwari in the Revenue Department, with ₹3,000 in alleged bribe money.

Bribe Collected in Patwari's Name; Main Accused Absconding

Inspector Rajkumar, in charge of the Palwal ACB unit, provided details of the case involving Yadram. He said the accused was allegedly collecting money in the name of Patwari Pravesh in exchange for completing land-related work.

Acting on the complainant's information, the ACB laid a trap and caught Yadram red-handed. During questioning, it emerged that the bribe was allegedly being collected at the direction of Patwari Pravesh. Consequently, Pravesh was also named in the FIR.

ACB Action Against Police Personnel

The arrest of the Hathin Gate Police Post in-charge has once again triggered concern within the police department. Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar was allegedly demanding money from a complainant in exchange for taking action in the complainant's favour in a case.

The ACB laid a planned trap and handed over chemically treated currency notes to the sub-inspector. As soon as the transaction took place, the team intervened and took him into custody.

Earlier, the ACB had also arrested two constables, Harish and Deepak, posted with Dial-112, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹9,000 in exchange for releasing a scooter.

Repeated Arrests Tighten ACB's Anti-Corruption Drive in Palwal

The back-to-back operations by the ACB in Palwal have created a stir in government offices. Only a few days earlier, the bureau had caught Chिमmanlal Teवतिया, the building inspector of the Palwal Municipal Council, red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.

The successive arrests indicate that the ACB is continuing to act on complaints involving alleged corruption and bribery. ACB officials said the remaining legal formalities in both cases were being completed and the accused were being produced before the court.

With investigations continuing in the two latest cases and efforts underway to locate the absconding patwari, the bureau's operations have brought renewed scrutiny to alleged bribery involving public services in Palwal district.
